IPv4 vs. IPv6: The Difference?

IPv4 vs. IPv6: The Difference?
IPv4 vs. IPv6
A comparison of IPv4 and IPv6, the two main types of IP addresses. IPv4 is a 32-bit address that uses a series of four numbers separated by periods (e.g. 123.993.33.76). IPv6 is a 128-bit address that uses a series of eight groups of four hexadecimal digits separated by colons (e.g. 2001:0db8:85a3:0000:0000:8a2e:0370:7334). IPv4 addresses are running out due to the growth of the internet, leading to the adoption of IPv6. IPv6 offers a larger address space, improved security, and better support for mobile devices. While IPv4 is still widely used, IPv6 is becoming more common as the internet continues to expand.
